Robert Huntington is an educator, performer, and an award-winning composer who has been serving as the Director of Instrumental Music at a middle school in his hometown of Livermore, CA for 4 years. He also is the current Director and Vice President of the Pleasanton Community Concert Band, and serves as the Winds & Percussion Director for the Livermore Amador Summer Youth Orchestra.
Robert began his journey into music as a child with his mother teaching him a little piano, guitar, and singing with him. In school he started in choir, moved to violin, and then to trumpet as he went into middle school. By the end of middle school he swapped finally to the tuba.
In 2026 he was commissioned to compose a piece celebrating the City of Livermore's 150th anniversary for the Livermore-Amador Summer Youth Orchestra. In 2020 he won the Oklahoma Youth Winds Composition Competition with what became the first movement of his suite for band. Today he stays active as a composer primarily by composing for his students and posting his curriculum to Teachers Pay Teachers under the name Huntington Music Education. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Composition in 2020 and earned his Master of Music in Music Education in 2022, both from University of the Pacific’s Conservatory of Music.
